I have had an interest in medical imaging, especially ultrasound since my Bachelor’s degree. This interest drove me continue my studies and choose medical ultrasound transducer design and fabrication as my research interest in my Master’s degree. Since the transducer is the most fundamental part of the whole ultrasonic system, starting my research career from the foundation of the ultrasound system helped to grow my understanding of the field.

While applying the use of hand-made transducers to various biomedical applications, I was curious about how the wavefield propagated: how much signal would be lost during transmission? How strong were reflections at the interfaces? How will the waveform shape change? That curiosity motivated me towards further PhD study in the BUG group. where aims to predict and measure the waveform accurately.
